In March 2020, the number of passengers on French public transport dropped by 90%, with a similar decline observed in Switzerland. With the lockdowns now over and the development of telework radically changing the commuting habits of a large part of the population, how is public transport emerging from the pandemic? Will public transport survive precisely when it is most needed for the ecological transition?
